These are the actual two first massive wood apartment houses in Finland made from Finnish CLT. The slowly grown and high-class timber is PEFC ecologically certified wood from Kainuu region, laminated into CLT by CrossLam Kuhmo and elements were made into fully equipped and finished spatial modules by Elementti Sampo, also in Kuhmo. The client is Tampereen Vuokratalosäätiö VTS and the purpose is social housing. The two 4-floor buildings offer 53 apartments on affordable rent with a sheltered courtyard and straight connection to forest with mushrooms, berries and occasional moose.
