LAMMINRANTA

Bright and cheerful, Lamminranta is a hybrid that combines a children's day-care centre and an assisted living facility for the elderly under one roof. Both operators have their own spaces, but the building has common spaces that allow these two groups to meet and combine their different energies through various activities. This, in fact, was the deepest function of the building. Wooden facades are very common in Finland. This one, however, was inspired by the vibrant colors of a Norwegian fishing village and is designed as a slice of that villagescape.
