The “Trojan Rocking Horse” project is a study of urban acupuncture, created together with Alaskan industrial artist Martin Ross and Tamkang University students. Project was realized in 2004 as part of the Taipei on the Move –project. For this work, 8 adult size steel rocking horses were constructed, mounted on wheels and placed to strategic points around Taipei city. The Horses started to move gradually towards the city center and eventually surrounded the City Hall. During the march, the horses acted as mail boxes for the citizens to write comments, memories and suggestions to Mayor Ma Ying-Jeou so he can use them as bases for urban planning following Fritz Lang’s maxim from the movie “Metropolis”: “The mediator between the head and the hands must be the heart.”
